GIMP
Also known as GNU Image Manipulation Program, it's a free raster graphics editor. It actually runs pretty well. However, the current release is HUGE (1.2GB compressed, 3GB uncompressed)! Because of this, it's recommended to download it on a separate computer and put it on separate storage media (such as a USB drive or SD card) if possible. This will be fixed in the next release.

TigerVNC
Free VNC server and VNC viewer software. The viewer runs well, and the server is better than expected.
